In a large pot over medium heat, brown the stew meat in the butter. After meat is browned, add in onions, garlic, tomatoes and spices. Cover with broth, add a splash of wine and cook down for 1-2 hours.
30 minutes before serving add in fresh carrots, celery, sweet potatoes and green beans. Add in more broth or water to reach desired consistency. Adjust seasonings and enjoy.
