Shawn Harris is a practitioner of acupuncture, a naturopath, herbalist, and avid practitioner of oriental medicine. Shawn graduated cum laude with a Masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine (MTCM) from Five Branches University. Five Branches University, being the top ranked school in California, and 3rd in the United States; has left him with a strong and specialized background. In addition to his educational background, Dr. Harris is a second generation acupuncturist who apprenticed under distinguished grand masters from the esteemed Zhejiang university in Hangzhou, China.

Shawn is currently pursuing his doctorate in acupuncture and oriental medicine, further specializing in neuromuscular medicine, auricular medicine, and women’s health and endocrinology. Shawn is board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and is a Licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac) in the state of Idaho.

As a Navy veteran himself, Shawn is passionate about working with veterans. He has done numerous externships, including working with mental health and PTSD at Mental Health Client Action; as well as providing acupuncture at the veterans clinic in Santa Cruz, California. He welcomes all service members, and provides free auricular treatments to all established active duty and veteran patients.

Shawn truly believes that optimal health is best achieved by integrating Eastern and Western medicine. He combines various holistic principles with acupuncture, herbal medicine and nutritional counseling. Although Shawn specializes in sports medicine and orthopedics, he has successfully treated innumerable ailments, including pain, musculoskeletal injuries, psycho-emotional conditions, digestive disorders, allergies, skin conditions, stress, depression, weight management and more. In addition to his practices in traditional Chinese medicine, Shawn has specialized training in Japanese acupuncture, naturopathic medicine, Tuina, Eastern herbalism, and Qi Gong.

Shawn currently offers individualized acupuncture, needle-less acupuncture, acupressure, oriental bodywork therapy, auricular diagnosis with ear seeds, cupping and guasha, along with individualized herbal formulations as needed.
